The MG brand is emblematic of the British automotive industry: indeed, MG stands for "Morris Garages". In the 1920s, the head of this garage developed improved Morris models for competition under the MG name.
In 1962, following on from the MGA, the MGB model was born, and with over 500,000 units produced, it became the most successful British sports car.
With its almost 100 hp, twin carburetors, self‑supporting body and innovative features such as overdrive (an overdrive of 3rd and 4th gears), the 2‑seater MG convertible was the flagship sports car of the Sixties, and the idol of the "yéyés" (the "p'tite MG" was even set to music by Richard Anthony in the song "Nouvelle vague").
A strict two‑seater, the MG is THE car for romantic getaways, sunsets and windy hair... Today, it's the most popular car for weddings!
Production ended in 1980, but the MG is still remembered today for its 60's British convertible charm.
Our MG Cabriolet rental model, "Jane", dates from 1969 and comes from the USA, which gives it the particularity of having a mileage counter combined with a left‑hand steering wheel, very practical for criss‑crossing French roads!
Nostalgia guaranteed!
